We surveyed thousands of office workers across diverse geographies to understand what is and isn’t working in the office today, and what design interventions might create a more compelling destination for employees to work in. The data reveals that workers still value the office as a place to focus.

Modern work will go far beyond the home office, adding video channels and conference rooms in a survival mode. Future work models will span the whole product cycle, integrating not only across internal functions, but also across companies. This includes all areas from white-collar office workers to frontline workers. Work will become truly independent of location and time. That means a need to focus much more on the entirety of the business landscape. This session will address what’s needed for open, flexible, and easily connecting platforms, where the business processes can be integrated and orchestrated fluidly, securely, and in easy-to-use ways.

The Metaverse Workplace — The Future of Work?

This session will cover what the modern workplace might look like in the future, when the metaverse is more developed and how the workplace has already developed to include virtual experiences, especially after the pandemic. Cristina will cover definitions of the metaverse, new technologies like AR and VR and how these can improve ways of working, as well as software which is already widely used. In her talk, she will also focus on some of the consequences of the metaverse, including its impact on morale, a positive working environment, and inclusion and diversity.
